Meet Ameri-Kim

This is my doll-head for my "on-the-job" training. We are supposed to say that now instead of "school". I pierced her nose, I needed to make her look different than everyone else's. I cut my hair some more today, that picture made the old cut look better than it did for real, so I had another girl make it look good. I'll put a picture on later probably. I have to re-color it though because it's so short that the red I had on the underneath shows all the time, and it's not very cute. Then I'll leave it alone...maybe. Another girl started today so I'm not the newest anymore either! I've cut Caleb's hair only so far. I braided this guy's hair though, and it took 3 1/2 hours because I put 70 braids in it!! I counted because there were so many :) So that's one thing I'm really good at. I'm much better at cutting straight now too, I cut my hand today though.. Ouch. Hopefully tomorrow I will learn something new!

Sparkly Fingers

I have new fingernails now as well. The new nail girl did these, and it was her first time to do a whole set of nails on anyone, pretty good. It's the weekend finally! This week has flown by though. I will be cutting real people's hair in 2 weeks. I'm also getting better at cutting hair all the same length as well, which is good.. because that's sort of necessary.

1st New Hair

Don't you love my new hair cut?? I think I aged a few years today. That's right, I went and cut my hair. I kept saying I was growing it out and only wanted bangs, for some sort of change. Well I looked at a hair magazine and changed my mind. But I really like it! And I have bangs too. Next I'll probably color it. Hehe... I'm going to keep track of how many times I change my hair throughout this whole 10 months. I also still love school, it is great.

Life in "Cosmo" World

I know this should've been posted yesterday, oh well, I was busy. I didn't really do much yesterday, at all. Every day we have theory class from 8:30-9:45, then a break, then the shop opens at 10. That's when I start learning how to do hair. But yesterday all I did was walk around and watch people because my instructor was not there. Today she was though, so I learned how to do a spiral perm on a doll head. My instructor is literally 70 years old, and she is very hard to understand and very long winded. So that's really basically all I've learned so far. A spiral perm is supposedly harder than a normal one though so I guess it's cool I started w/ that one? I did get my kit today though. Including hair dryer, curling irons, buzzer/razor thing, tons of brushes, combs, a set of hot rollers, etc.. But it seems like it's going to be fun, it's a long time, but it will be fun. So that's good. I've got to go shopping now because it's Mexican day tomorrow since a girl is graduating. I have to bring some chips. Oh boy.

2 1/2 days left.

I have 2 1/2 days left until cosmetology school starts! Ahh! I'm going to Fayetteville today to go shopping for some clothes to wear. Tomorrow I am going to watch the Vikings play Green Bay. Oh boy, I really hope we win because if not, it's over :( Monday I am working for Ed, then it's off to school for the next 10 months.. Well not "off" to school, but you know. It starts. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

School Update

The countdown is now at 7 days. I was originally going to start on the 11th when I planned to go to Branson, but I thought that the Harrison school would start on the 4th. Well since the 31st (Friday) was a holiday, the state board office wasn't open, so I'm not going to be registered to start until next week. That's fine with me though, I have time to go get clothes to wear for it. All black, very original.. At least I don't have to worry about what to wear for the next 10 months. :)
