Long hair

Kylee got me some hair extensions for my birthday. However, I got the wrong kind, and instead of having clips on them, it was just a very long track with hair hanging off of it. I had to cut it in to sections to fit my head, super glue the hair onto clips (doubled up because my hair is so dang thick), cut the hair (because it was down to my waist and very unbelievable and weird looking), and dye it to match my hair. Whew.
I just finished doing all that last night, so I put them in and ta-dah, long hair. However, my hair is SO thick that they still don't really work to wear out somewhere. My hair needs to grow at least another inch before it will blend in. So.. all that work and I still have to wait :)
If you are wondering what my deal is with long hair, I'm trying to grow my hair for my wedding. I haven't ever really had long hair because when it gets to the point it's at now, I start looking like I'm 12 again. So I would usually cut it all off at this point. But I will not be cutting it this time.

Alright well I have a job opportunity now. I think everyone that reads this already knows this, but just in case.. it's at the new Sephora that's coming here soon. I do not know when it will be here or where, actually. But I should find out soon. I have to get ahold of people, send in my resume, and set up an interview. I'm guessing I will just be a salesperson of some sort, but I may be able to put makeup on people too.
Also, I've been helping Kylee with the ebay store. She came down last week and we took a bunch of new pictures of me. Go here to see them. And buy something :) haha :) Well, I will update again when I find out more about the job thing. Think happy thoughts.

Well let's see... It is Sunday of FOURTH OF JULY weekend!! So far it's been boring, Caleb worked 15 hours Friday and 11 on Saturday.. boo :) He needs a night crew that doesn't suck :) On Friday night he did have some not fun excitement, a cook had a seizure on the kitchen floor! And as he was having one, his elbow landed in one of the fryers, so it got really burned! But he is ok, and it was the kid's first day, and he came in the next day, saying he would bring a doctor's note so he wouldn't lose his job. Caleb was like, uh dude you left in an ambulance, I don't need a doctors note! Hah.
But.. Kylee is coming to see me tomorrow, so that will be fun. We're gonna go thrift store shopping all over. Then we are going to Mom & Ed's Tuesday to do fireworks and cookout. Some of my friends from Harrison are going to come too. Fun fun, I love fireworks :)
Also, Todd may have/may not have helped me out to get a job connection :) haha.. long story, BUT, because he is Mr. Popular in Fayetteville, I get to call a salon and tell them "Taylor sent me" (who is the owner of Dead Swanky, #1 nice salon in town). So that might be good. Plus Caleb's supervisor asked him if I had a job yet, and he said no cuz most places are full already. Well the guy was like, Hey, let's start our own salon in Tonititown, and I'll back it (he is LOADED) she can get like 5 friends and when the residential part comes next year, we'll make bank! Now, I don't know how valid or likely to happen that is, but it would be awesome cuz that's what I really want to do, I just don't have the money to do it :) Anyway, hope everyone has a GREAT holiday weekend!! Well let's see...Still looking for a job. Still working for Ed a few days a week. He is sooo busy this summer! 10 Chandeliers to a restaurant in Saudi Arabia and such. I am also going to go to Minnesota w/ him in August. Mom is not going anywhere to help install stuff anymore, and that's kinda become my job now. Plus I've never been to Minnesota before. Coolness.
I'm having a little annoyance week as far as the hair job is concerned. It's fairly hard to stay motivated when everywhere I go is either full, or only hiring people that already have a clientele. At this point I think I would work anywhere, just to have a job and not have to worry about looking anymore.
I've been pretty busy though, besides all that. Last Friday I went and stayed with Kylee in Springfield. This is her dog Roscoe to your right. (He didn't like the bow, he couldn't get it off, so he gave up) We took a bunch of pictures in her clothes that she has to sell on ebay. They are funny cuz I think I look like a DORK in vintage clothes. But if you are curious, go to ebay, and search for sellers, her name is victims_of_vintage.
Then Saturday was camping. And we got SO wet. haha.. But it was only kinda crazy bad from 10-11 that night, so we survived. Thanks to our nice picnic table canopy cover. We were so determined to swim that we went at 9:45 the next morning when we saw the slightest bit of sun. It was COLD. We mostly stood in the water daring each other to go under :) I did it. But we had fun though, I made hamburgers for dinner and scrambled eggs and pancakes for breakfast. Everyone only got one pancake after I wasted a few trying to figure out how to do it on the grill :)
I'm going to put a picture of our campsite on here, and a picture of Kylee's hair (I dyed it while I was there) because I don't think most of you have seen my mad skillz as Todd would say :)

For some more real news, I went looking again today. I am very proud of myself, too. I went to 6 different places, and they were all scary except one. Hah :) I went to the scariest first, and worked my way down from there.

So that's the deal there. Basically I need to make a resume and go out again. It is wonderful that it's not scary anymore though. I've said my little "Hi, I just moved here and was wondering if you might be hiring" so many times, it's no big deal. The girls in the places were nice too, I kinda feel like a retard for being so worried about those "Fayetteville girls" Hah. I decided, hey, I know what I'm doing, I'm good at it, I belong in those places just as much as they do. So there. :)
Oh yes, I also got bored last night and dyed my hair. In case ya didn't notice. This is why I need a job, I've dyed Mom's hair, Caleb's hair, and mine, I must start working again!!! I've run out of people. Well there's Freddie but....
So that is my update. I'm going back on Thursday cuz I'm working for Ed tomorrow. He has printer ink, I need resumes :) haha.. Hopefully my next post will be "I have a JOB!!"

Well, I got a call today. I could have a job if I want it. Donna from the Hair Clinic finally called me today, and she had lost her voice. She said that she would like me to work there if I'm still interested. I told her I hadn't really looked anywhere else yet, but I was kinda worried about the walk-in situation. She said that truthfully, that may not be the best thing, if I need to make a lot of money at first. She said that I may want to check out something like the Mall, just to get some clients. So, I'm taking time to think about it, and will call her back later today or tomorrow morning. So, anybody have any ideas on this? All advice is welcome :)

So, I went to Harrison this weekend to visit people. When I went to leave, I looked at my car, and this is what I saw (see pics below for close-ups). My car was parked on the side of the road over night, and in the morning, the window was completely shattered. So either someone in Harrison really doesn't like me, a little kid got a little crazy with a BB gun, or someone drove by and a little rock shot out from their tire and hit my window. Those are my guesses. But I really have no idea. I called the insurance company, and someone's coming to my apartment on Tuesday to fix it. I get to pay $100 deductable to fix a window I didn't break! Oh well, good thing I have insurance I guess.
However, my car will be sitting in my apartment parking lot until then. I was so freaked out to drive it home! It looks like it could just all fall out at any moment, and whenever I drove over any bumps, I could hear tiny little pieces of glass falling down in the door. I put that clear packing tape across the whole thing in case it did fall out while I was driving.
So that puts my life on hold until Wednesday. At least we're getting cable tomorrow :)
As far as my job interview, for those who don't know, she never called me back. I tried to call yesterday, but no one answered at the Salon, so... I really don't care that much because I think I was just settling for the first place, so I wouldn't have to look anymore. I'm freaked out to go to the cool places, but I am going to do it. I need to be at the "cool" places cuz that's the kinda stuff I want to do.
My job searching will resume on Thursday. I'm working for Ed on Wednesday, cuz I already make money there :)
So.. super long update.. crappy, but oh well. Not the end of the world to have a busted window :)

So I went to look for a job today. I got an interview too.
The Hair Clinic is the place.
I am now back from my interview and here's the scoop:
She is hiring, will do booth rent or commission. Commission there is 60/40, which means I'd get 60% of what I make in a day. She provides the products. She said they get a fairly good amount of walk-ins and everyone there is usually busy, so I guess I would get most of them. She is interviewing another girl tomorrow night though, so I don't know if I have the job yet or not. I will know on Friday. So.. guess that's good news. I have lots of other options if not I guess. :)
I'll keep ya posted on the latest updates. Think happy thoughts for me :)

Sad Day

Well, today was my last day at Sachet. I am sad. It will be ok though. I guess I should look at it as starting my new life. Even though I had a good life here. It just hadn't really become real until today.
Other than that, I'm just going to be unpacking and getting my new apartment ready.
So, if anyone is coming to Fayetteville soon, come see me! I have no friends there yet :) Just me, Caleb, and Freddie :)
Except I am real close to my favorite brother :) So that will be good.

Moving

I would've/should've posted this sooner, however I have been insanely busy since this news. So, I am moving to Fayetteville. I will be there at the end of this month, maybe a little sooner. Caleb got a promotion, to have his own Sonic, in Tontitown. The manager there put in his 2 week notice, this past Saturday. So a week from Saturday, Caleb will be the new store manager. He's been working there this week, and he'll stay this weekend. Then Mon-Thur he's off to move. So I'll move as much as I can then, until the end of the month. We found a place to live today. Go here to check it out. It's the classic two bedroom. The electric is already set up to turn on Monday. We'll have to do the water and everything else Monday before we go to get the key.
Lots of people have already been telling me about salons they know of, and people to ask for. So it shouldn't be very hard to find a job. With Caleb's extra money I will be able to have time to look around and find a good place, so that will be nice.
It's weird to think I'll be living there again in less than a month. I am excited though, just kinda freaked out still since it all happened in like 2 days. But I know it will be fine. I'll get to see Todd more now :)
By the way, I saw him today and he seems to be doing good. His eye is sad, but it will be better. You will be ok Todd!
Anyway, it is late, I must sleep. Just wanted to update about the big news.

Well I did a bad job this month :)
So here's everything that's been happening.
I'm now a Redken Color Specialist. I finished my classes last week. So glad that is over. I've been in hair world for 3 weeks straight.
Last Saturday was the Bridal Show at the "Fashion Center" (Our retarded mall with like 5 stores in it)
This is our little booth. The whole thing was pretty cheesy, but it was kinda fun. I worked all day so I only had to be there for an hour.
I've been getting a lot of people for updos and stuff. My day today was completely full. I also made $170 woo woo :) The most in one day so far. Which also made a record week. This is the good time of year for hair people though. I also did some cornrows today. Hadn't done that since I started working, and it is so much better to get $65 for that instead of a $5 tip.
The Nine Inch Nails concert was very awesome as well. 5 of us went, and we all dressed the part :) I had my hair tied in knots all over and then pulled back into two crazy pigtails. We stopped in Clinton, AR, for a bathroom break and got lots of funny looks. It was fun.
Caleb is going to Tontitown on Monday to run a store there for two weeks. Some manager walked out, so Caleb to the rescue I guess. They're paying for him to stay in a hotel there and stuff. He'll get some good experience running a store.
The most exciting part of my weekend is that I get to sleep late tomorrow!! I haven't gotten to do that in 21 days. Oh my god. Ok so, everyone have a good weekend, and I hope you've enjoyed your update. Check back next month. Haha.

Not too much is going on. A lady got her head shaved at work this week. There was a radio-thon for the Arkansas Children's Hospital, and she is a DJ for the station, and she said she would shave her head if they raised $50,000. So it happened. Good cause though. I heard on the radio in Fayetteville these guys will shave their head for cancer research. They're only doing it for like $2,000. Crazy.

Well, I thought I had made everyone wait long enough for a new post. If you're still even checking this page...
This month is going to be very busy. Kinda has been already since it's only the 5th.
Friday was my friend Shelly's birthday. Her new husband's band, All Hallows Wish played in Fayetteville, so we went to see that. Crazy music, I was there for moral support their first "real" show.
I'm also going to a class in Springfield, be be a Redken Color Specialist. It's 4 days long though. So no weekend for me two weeks in a row :( That's March 19, 20, 26, & 27. And after the first week, I'm going to a concert in Little Rock on the 21st. Nine Inch Nails, Caleb's all-time favorite band. Oh boy. :) More crazy music. It will be fun though.
Our salon is also having a booth at a Bridal show in the mall in Harrison. We're giving stuff away, and having people with pretty hair. Maybe get some more business for me :) I'm going to run a cornrow special when it's closer to spring. That'll be good or bad :)
So I may be a loser at posting again this month. I'll try not to be since there's a lot going on.

So, I brought my laptop to work today. My boss's son just got an ipod, and she needed me to put some songs on it for him. Well, I checked to see if there was any wireless internet around here, and the place next door has it, with no password! So I can surf at work now :) Sweet. I had a record Tuesday this week. $100, before that $50 was my max on Tuesday. So this week is going good so far. I have a few things Saturday so far. Caleb will be 25 tomorrow. Other than that, not much is new. I'm currently being "chopped" with a fake axe by a little boy, so I must go back to that. I'm being told to "PLAY, PLAY!!!" So here I go :)

Well Todd was right. I do cut a "mean Mullet". I got to cut 2 of them today. It is so ridiculous. How can people not know how silly they look? No one ever says, "Hey, can you trim up my Mullet?" It's always, "Keep the length in the back, but cut it up over my ears". So they really don't know that they have this style..
I wonder what would happen if I did a whole different, better haircut one day.. Not that I would, but it could help some poor Mullet victim see the light.
Anyway, I had 3 walk-ins today, which was good.
I have a perm on Saturday, so that's some good money I'll be getting :)
Not much new, stuck in hair world right now. I'm going to take a Redken color class. I will be a Redken Color Specialist after I'm done. Coolness. Keep your fingers crossed for Fayetteville.

Well I got to start work today, and it was good :) I only did two things that you could consider "work" though. I swept some hair off the floor one time, and I got some foils ready for a highlite. That would be all. So needless to say, it wasn't a very stressful day. I got there and unpacked all my stuff and tried to organize. Then after lunch I basically sat around and chatted with people, watched my "boss" do some haircuts, and ordered some products from the lady who tempts us with good deals. All of the girls seem nice at first, which is good. They may be crazy.. but not as far as I can tell. Tori is the lady I am working for. She's really nice, very busy. My little room is cute, it is very little. My friend Shelly is goiing to paint a picture for me to hang on the wall. That will be cool. I'll write more when I actually do something, but work was good for the first day, so that is good.. good.

Anyway, I didn't get to start working today.. The owner of the salon was sick, so she didn't get to clean up my room this weekend. I'm supposed to start tomorrow now, which is less pressure since I'm just being an assistant. It'll probably take me all morning to move all my stuff in. Hope everyone had a good new year's eve!! I hung out with my friends and had some yummy strawberry drinks :) I'm hanging out, watching football today. I've been playing my Sims game a lot too.. it is very addictive :) Gonna make some breakfast on my new griddle, thank you Dad. Getting ready to start work.. I tried to go move in yesterday, but they didn't have my room ready yet. They're moving stuff all around in it, and the owner said her husband was doing that this weekend, so it should be ready on Tuesday. Which means I won't be doing much hair on Tuesday, because I'll be organizing all my stuff, but that's alright. I have to take my decorations down soon too... bleh. I should get a newsletter for this month where I live soon, and I'll know if I won the decorating contest :) Have a good New Year's Day! Eat some black-eyed peas for good luck.

My brother is 29 today. Hehe.. that sounds so weird. It's weird that I am 22 though... just think, when I'm like 25, you'll be 32!! Ok so my state board test is over. Now I have to wait until I get some results in the mail. You can also check online at www.arkansas.gov/cos/search.php. As soon as the state board people know my results, they'll put my name on there (if I passed, that is) So of course I've been checking that page like crazy. I won't be worried to not see my name until sometime next week, because right now is really too soon to be checking. I am so glad that is over though. I don't ever want to do that again!! The written test wasn't too hard, although I think I was more prepared for this test than any I've ever taken in my life. The practical (actually doing stuff to dollheads) part wasn't horrible, it was just really long, and no talking, and no asking questions, just do the stuff. It wasn't at all as bad as everyone makes it sound, but not a fun thing either. So let's hope I passed, and eventually I'll put a pic of that polish on here, for whoever was asking :)

I have received my information from the State Board of Cosmetology. I take my test on December 6. That is one week from Tuesday. Also, 10 days away. I've been pretty calm until I got my packet. Now I'm starting to freak out a little. I'm just ready to get it over with though, so I guess I'm glad it's soon. It could've been the week after that, but I'm going to get my license sooner this way, so that will be cool. I'm ready to start getting paid. I got my huge amount of nail polish in the mail today, it's all on a big stand, looks cool.
I'm going to a wedding of someone from High School tonight. That's always weird. Kylee and I also met up with our friends Kristah, Samantha, and Ashlee for lunch on Friday. We hadn't seen each other in forever so that was kind of entertaining. Got caught up on all the gossip. I'll put a picture on my polish on here later because I know that will be something to look forward to. Haha.

Well look at this, I am done with school :) Yesterday was crazy, the girls at school pulled a big prank on me. We usually do that to people on their last day, however I totally forgot about that, so they really got me. I was going to be done with school at 2:45. Well at about 1:15 I was coloring a girl's hair from school and the receptionist came up to me and said "Please don't be mad, but this lady called and requested you and she wants her acrylic nails soaked off (1-1 1/2 hr process), nails put back on (1 1/2-2 hr process), and get a micro (microdermabrasion, 30 min). Jerree (the owner) said you have to do it since it's a request, I'm really sorry." I just looked at her like, what?? So I went and asked the instructor in the red jacket, Guila, if this was true. She said she didn't know, and to just go ask Jerree (lady in dark blue jacket). So I asked her and she said yes because the lady who wanted all that was pushy and she didn't want to lose business. So I set up to do some nails, 2:00 came along, 2:15, 2:30... This woman is usually late anyway, but at this point, to do all that stuff to her would keep me at school until about 5:30! So I go over to where we do our nails, and another girl who's my good friend is doing some nails as well. I told her I was mad because of this whole situation, and she looked at me, started smiling, and laughed. Then I realized it was all a joke. But it was a good one, so it was ok. They also decorated my car. It was a good last day, but it was kinda sad having to leave my little family there. But I get to go back for free pedicures as a former student, so I'll probably be back there every 2 weeks.
Now I just have to get ready for my big test. I'll be studying like crazy for the next month or so.
Gonna eat dinner with Mom & Ed tonight, then Kylee will be here tomorrow for my birthday weekend. Woo woo :)
Now I must go watch e-bay because I have 2 auctions ending in 30 min.

Today is my last day of school!! I have been up since 6 this morning, so I thought I'd be productive and leave a post :) I'll put a graduation pic on here later. The last 2 days at school have been really busy because everyone wants me to do their hair before I leave. I colored 2 people's hair and did a haircut Tuesday, yesterday I colored one girl's hair, and today I have to color 2 more people's hair and do a set of nails. I haven't done any clients out of school this week because since I was sick, everyone thinks I'm already out of school instead of having 3 more days this week. We had a party yesterday and the theme was Thanksgiving food. Everyone brought stuff so that was cool. We ate a lot. I was very crazy yesterday because I was so excited. I'm sure today will be no different since I woke up wide awake at 6 this morning. Ok gotta get ready for my last day of school. Woo hoo! :)

I have one more Tuesday of school left. Just a little update :) All I did today was go to work at Mom & Ed's. I had to break up a fight between Charles and Lucy, but that was about as eventful as it got. I'm sure I will be watching Monday night football tonight. The Colts and the Patriots, woo hoo :) haha. Well here we are, about to go to the craziness that Sonic is on Halloween. I forgot how much I miss fast food work... haha.. yeah right. It is insane, especially when for the past 10 years they've given away hotdogs for free on Halloween, and they don't this year. I officially have 2 weeks of school left. I'm also officially on "request only" so I don't have to take anymore walk-ins. This is so I can practice and study for my state board test... that is a month after I graduate, oh well. Wednesday we are going to the school in Branson to compete against them. We have 4 categories, fantasy, elegant, casual, and business. My team is elegant/formal stuff. I'm the team captian because I'm good at updos, as my team has informed me. I hope we beat the Branson school because they already think they're better than us. Which is kind of funny because the reason we're going to their school is because one of the people up there has been arrested and can't cross state lines. Hah...
I'm trying to come up with a list of all the things I will be needing for work. The only main problem is that I have to either order most of the things I need or go to a supply store that only sells to professional people. Like haircolor, products, perms, perm rods, nail polish, etc. I guess I can ask for cotton as a gift :) I'll need that and you can buy it anywhere.. Haha.. I don't know, I'll think of something. I finally bought a sparkly purse. It is tacky, but I still love it. This is the last thing I will be buying for myself for awhile.
I have 12 more days of school, maybe 11 if I can get 4 extra hours. I have to leave early and miss an hour though because I have to get my tags renewed and pay property taxes for the first time. Anybody have any guesses as to how much that may be for owning just my car?
I also have a Halloween costume now. I'm going to be half angel half devil. It's cool, I'll put a picture on here.
Other than that not too much else. My future boss referred one of her clients to me because she was too busy this week. That was cool, but I was freaking out a little, trying to do a really good job.
I also get paid $20 every time I do a set of nails at school now because I'm using my own product. Sweet.

I am now a "Senior Stylist". Cool huh. I've moved out to the middle of the floor instead of being along the wall with everyone else. By the end of this month I'll have almost 1000 hours. I have about 18 weeks left. Hah, I should stop counting down so soon, it seems to make time go by slower.
I can't think of anything exciting that's happened lately right now. I have bangs now, as of today. I'm going to try to get my hair colored this week so I will take a picture when it's all done. My bangs aren't dorky straight-across bangs either, they are slanted. Just so you know.

These are the first plants I've had that have lived for over 4 months. There is absolutely no sun in front of my apartment, so most flowers just die after a little while. I'm not really sure how these are still alive, but I'm proud.
There hasn't been anything very exciting going on lately, but I haven't written in awhile and all I could think to take a picture of at the moment was my plants.
I have 3 requests on the book tomorrow. Cosmo lingo transfers that to mean that 3 people have requested me for an appointment tomorrow. That is cool because on an average day I really don't have much on my slot. I get a lot of walk-ins through the day, but this is cool. One of them is cornrows though. Uh. I wish I didn't know how to do those sometimes, but it is good because I'm getting really fast at it, and when I'm actually working I can charge a lot for it and be fast. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in Harrison that knows how to do those.
Oh, something else kinda cool. There is a salon that is interested in me. The owner of a really nice, new salon came to school to look for someone to work there now, but my instructors "highly recommended" me, so she said. She told me to call her when I'm closer to being done. So that makes me feel good, I'm exactly half way done with school and I'm already highly recommended. On Tuesday I will have 800 hours which means that I'm officially a senior stylist. Woo. I'll get a pin. Oh boy. I'll take a picture of that next. haha...

Sunday I did the hair of these girls for a wedding. The bride was in some of my classes at Nac and she asked me if I would do their hair because the wedding was on a Sunday. I went to her parent's house to do it; there were 12 people total and I had 4 1/2 hours! It was fun though, and I got paid. I colored a girl's hair at school today, it turned out really cool. Another successful color. Pretty cool since I've only done about 4 color/highlights.. I've done a whole lot of all over one solid color, but that's easy. We're having a party at school tomorrow because 2 girls graduate this week. Only 4 1/2 more months!

Look! I graduated! It doesn't really seem like it since I just got that in the mail today. But it's still cool. I will feel more proud when I graduate from this current school. I'm actually working for something now. Today was hectic. There were 28 pedicures cuz of this weekend I guess. I was on reception, so I just had to cornrow this girl's hair at noon. Other than that I just answered the phone and made people mad by giving them services (odd, seems like that's what you're there for).
It's almost the weekend, after my shampoo set/pedicure filled saturday morning. I'll be back when something else interesting happens.

I know I'm horrible at keeping this updated, I know, I know. I'm going to try to be better. I have something funny though. For some reason, when Ed was a kid, he was called "Fast Eddie". Well, this elf from a package of "E.L. Fudges" cookies is also named Fast Eddie. What is that?
The latest strange update is that there was a guy standing in the middle of the road in Harrison the other day, holding a gun, threatening to commit suicide. Right out on the highway in an intersection in front of Walmart. Don't know what happened except the cops took him away.
Also, the bakery that is next door to my school is now closed forever due to lack of business. This is sad, I liked donuts next door.

My lunch was stolen/eaten at school on Wednesday. What is that? By the dumb girl who messed up my hair no less. Here's the story: I brought pizza from home wrapped in aluminum foil. When I got to school this so called "friend" was outside. She said, "Oh! Is that breadsticks?!" (I brought some last week and gave her one) I said, no it's pizza, then I went inside and put it in the refrigerator. However, at 12:30 when I went to get it, the foil had been opened and there was one piece of pizza left. I decided to investigate and see who had clocked out for lunch so far. Four girls had, but they all had food from random restaurants. So I thought back to earlier in the day when we were in class. This "friend" left class to see this baby of a girl who had previously graduated from there. She was in the lounge. Alone, for about 20 minutes. The lounge is where the refrigerator is. Hm. So it was her. I know it was, she knew what it looked like, what it was, and had time to eat it. That's basically it. I had to do a perm right after that, which took the rest of the afternoon, and I felt kind of stupid saying something the day after. I'm still annoyed though.

I decided to get my hair retouched because my previous blonde highlights had grown out. Well the girl that did my hair went a little more blonde than I was, so now I look like this. It's not so bad, I'm just a little shocked. I need a tan if I'm going to be this blonde. I really don't think my hair has ever been this white.
Also, if anyone has any ideas on why my eye has been constantly red for the past few weeks, leave me a message. I have taken my contacts out, put brand new ones in, and gone whole days wearing my glasses to give my eye some air, but it's still red. You can probably see it in this picture, my right eye. It doesn't hurt or itch though. Why is there always something strange wrong with me? Hah.

Ok, so I'm not so good at updating this thing lately. I have been pretty busy though. School is better this week. I feel like I'm actually getting to do some things, instead of last week when I did ONE haircut. The whole week! But this week I've done about 4 cuts, a bunch of pedi/manicures, and 2 perms. I hadn't done a perm yet till this week. They both turned out pretty good too. But man, perms are Stinky. Oh yes, I also had to cornrow this guy's hair. And he was yucky. B-O like I have never smelled, and his hair was gross. Which wouldn't be so bad except that it took about 2 hours to do his hair, so I was surrounded by stink for awhile. But that's ok, I can handle that. Nothing can be as bad as my old man feet pedicure I had the other day :) Haven't had to give anyone a mullet lately, except this one lady kinda already had one, and I had to trim that up for her.. haha.... This is my doll-head for my "on-the-job" training. We are supposed to say that now instead of "school". I pierced her nose, I needed to make her look different than everyone else's. I cut my hair some more today, that picture made the old cut look better than it did for real, so I had another girl make it look good. I'll put a picture on later probably. I have to re-color it though because it's so short that the red I had on the underneath shows all the time, and it's not very cute. Then I'll leave it alone...maybe. Another girl started today so I'm not the newest anymore either! I've cut Caleb's hair only so far. I braided this guy's hair though, and it took 3 1/2 hours because I put 70 braids in it!! I counted because there were so many :) So that's one thing I'm really good at. I'm much better at cutting straight now too, I cut my hand today though.. Ouch. Hopefully tomorrow I will learn something new!

Life in "Cosmo" World

I know this should've been posted yesterday, oh well, I was busy. I didn't really do much yesterday, at all. Every day we have theory class from 8:30-9:45, then a break, then the shop opens at 10. That's when I start learning how to do hair. But yesterday all I did was walk around and watch people because my instructor was not there. Today she was though, so I learned how to do a spiral perm on a doll head. My instructor is literally 70 years old, and she is very hard to understand and very long winded. So that's really basically all I've learned so far. A spiral perm is supposedly harder than a normal one though so I guess it's cool I started w/ that one? I did get my kit today though. Including hair dryer, curling irons, buzzer/razor thing, tons of brushes, combs, a set of hot rollers, etc.. But it seems like it's going to be fun, it's a long time, but it will be fun. So that's good. I've got to go shopping now because it's Mexican day tomorrow since a girl is graduating. I have to bring some chips. Oh boy.

The countdown is now at 7 days. I was originally going to start on the 11th when I planned to go to Branson, but I thought that the Harrison school would start on the 4th. Well since the 31st (Friday) was a holiday, the state board office wasn't open, so I'm not going to be registered to start until next week. That's fine with me though, I have time to go get clothes to wear for it. All black, very original.. At least I don't have to worry about what to wear for the next 10 months. :)

I have the best news ever. I get to go to cosmetology school in Harrison instead of Branson!!
I hadn't heard from the school since August, when I signed up, so I actually thought I might not even be on the list anymore. However, after talking to the instructor, she informed me she did away with the waiting list so I can go to Harrison! This is like a 6 minute drive vs. 45 min-1 hour (Branson traffic, etc) I can also now get a job in Harrison instead of worrying about that. Also, when I graduate, I will have a certificate for Arkansas instead of Missouri, so I'll be ready to start working. Otherwise I'd have to take a test to get a liscense for Arkansas. Hooray for good news! Oh yeah, it's also a little bit cheaper than the other school, by about $800 or so, cool... But it starts on Jan. 4th instead of the 11th like I thought, so the countdown has dropped to 4 days!! Ahh!
I'm going to a party tonight for New Years, and it's conveniently located in the apartment behind mine, so no worries about getting in a wreck! ☺

Today I was with glass all day. Ed and I put up a big chandelier at UAMS. We had a fun time with all the rednecks who had obviously not seen much glass/art stuff in their life. One said after seeing a picture of what the chandelier would look like "That looks like a bad hair cut! After a loong day of working (starting at 6 am), we came back home. It's also Mom's birthday, soooo Happy Birthday Mom!

The day after Christmas is not a very fun day. It's a day of taking decorations down, and that is no fun. I still don't know if I won anything for the decoration contest. If I didn't even get a place that will be sad :) I do get to play with all my new toys though, including a new video game that I've been playing since I woke up. Today is my day off though, so I can do what I want. I'm going to Little Rock tomorrow to help Ed put up a gigantic chandelier at the UAMS place there. It is also Mom's birthday.

Merry Christmas! I think today is the latest I've slept on Christmas day before. I'm usually up at 8:00 waiting on everyone else to get up to open presents. I slept till 10:45 today! What's up with that. Anyway, I'm about to open stockings and presents with Caleb and Freddie. Last night we opened a few presents, and I got a "Chi" (very good hair straightener) and some Bath & Body Works stuff from Caleb. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas!

Hello! It seems like I'm all about doing what my Brother does :) but that's alright, because I think everyone does this blog thing now. I am getting ready for Christmas, Caleb will not leave me alone about presents, every night "can we open just ONE present tonight??" This coming from someone who claims not to like Christmas.. Uh huh.. Anyway, I don't know much about blogs yet so please bear with me. I hope someone will read this : )
